It was my intention to Walk from Saltburn to Staithes today but whilst on the bus I decided to go on to Redcar instead and make it a longer walk than I have done lately. On arrival at Redcar I did a little shopping, (Kinny's favourite sauages) before starting my walk. On my way along the seafront I passed the Zetland Lifeboat Museum where the worlds oldest lifeboat is housed so I stopped of to have a look. I had seen this boat before but I think I was still at school then. After my visit I stopped for a bite of lunch and then set off along the Stray in the direction of Marske and Saltburn, first along a promanade and later actualy on the beach itself. It was easy walking on firm sand with the sea on my left and sand dunes on my right. As I approached Saltburn the weather began to close in and I could see a heavy rain cloud heading my way so after a little consideration I decided that in view of the fact that if I was caught out in a rainstorm I had little chance of finding shelter after leaving Saltburn so I decided to abandon the walk and finish it another day. A few minutes later I boarded my bus home just as it started to rain.
